As part of the 'Nullawil 125 year Celebration' the school student compose their own song:
OUR LITTLE NULLY TOWN
CHORUS
Farewell yesterday, tomorrow’s far away.
And we live our lives in this place we call today.
The crop springs from the ground, and turns to golden brown.
And we’ll always treasure our little country town.
VERSE 1
Long ago in early days, before the settlers came.
The Jupagalk lived ‘round here, and gave this place its name.
Then in 1891, beneath the Mallee sun,
The pioneers settled here, on the drovers run. So,
CHORUS
VERSE 2
They cleared the land and built the town, from slabs of brick and mud.
Sowed the land with horse and plough, sweated tears of blood.
Waited for the crops to grow, And wished the Tyrrell Creek would flow.
Then came harvest time, as the seasons rolled on by. So,
VERSE 3
Though times have changed, some things remain, the families are still here.
They’ll welcome you with open arms, spreading joy and cheer.
Our sporting teams are so well known, they keep this place alive.
The primary school, the footy club, they help the town to thrive. So,
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Good old Nullawil forever, good old Nullawil forever!
CHORUS
(Repeat last line)
And we’ll always treasure our little Nully town.
